DPF Cleaning, Replacement, or ECU Reprogramming
Why the DPF gets clogged — the real causes
The DPF does not fail "on its own." There is almost always an underlying cause.
1. City driving — the biggest enemy
Modern diesel engines require high temperatures to complete the regeneration process.
Frequent short trips:
Prevent full regeneration
Lead to soot accumulation
Result in gradual clogging
2. Combustion system issues
Leaking injectors
Poor fuel quality
Incorrect fuel mixture
EGR system problems
All of these factors increase particulate emissions.
